You only need a few things to get going, but if you’re escaping the city for the day of it you might want to consider some extras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here’s everything you need to know about what you might bring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Must have items<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

1. Smartphone:<\/strong> Use the Geocaching<\/a> app on your smartphone to find hints and to log your Geocaching adventures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. GPS Receiver: <\/strong>Additionally, you can use a dedicated geocache data GPS device for when your signal is poor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Pen\/Pencil:<\/strong> Essential for signing logbooks in geocaches, remember a pen or pencil to mark what you discover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Useful extras to have<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

1. Backpack:<\/strong> A dedicated geocache bag to keep all your gear easily accessible during your adventures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Spare Batteries\/Portable charger<\/strong>: Remember to charge your phone and take battery packs to avoid running out of charge mid-adventure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Drinks and Snacks:<\/strong> Stay fuelled and hydrated with ample water, snacks, or even a packed lunch if you are going for a while.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Tweezers:<\/strong> Remember any TOTT, tricks of the trade, handy for extracting log sheets from small or tightly packed geocaches. Tweezers can save time during log signing. 5. SWAG:<\/strong> Bring small items to trade with other Geocachers, adhering to “take something, leave something” principle. Remember items should be same or more value than what you take.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Geocache Repair Kit<\/strong>: Show your appreciation for cache owners by carrying spare containers and log sheets to replace damaged or full caches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Torch:<\/strong> Essential for night time caching or exploring dark areas such as tree hollows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
