{"id":1230,"date":"2025-10-17T10:08:59","date_gmt":"2025-10-17T09:08:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jusmedia.co.uk\/360wire\/?p=1230"},"modified":"2025-10-17T10:09:01","modified_gmt":"2025-10-17T09:09:01","slug":"traffic-calming-measures-announced-to-help-introduce-20mph-speed-limit-in-hull","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jusmedia.co.uk\/360wire\/2025\/10\/17\/traffic-calming-measures-announced-to-help-introduce-20mph-speed-limit-in-hull\/","title":{"rendered":"Traffic calming measures announced to help introduce 20mph speed limit in Hull"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Hull City Council announced that work to install traffic calming measures will start next week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an attempt to improve road safety and help enforce the newly introduced 20mph speed limit, the measures will take place on two west Hull streets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will include the installation of three new speed tables on Selby Street, as well as widening the footpaths and the installation of three road bumps on Glasgow Street. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Councillor Mark Ieronimo, cabinet portfolio holder for transport and infrastructure at Hull City Council, said:\u00a0\u201cBy reducing vehicle speeds, we\u2019re not only improving safety but also creating a more accessible environment for walking and cycling.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The council announced that temporary road closures will be in place whilst the works are ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Glasgow Street, the road will be closed from Monday 20 October until Tuesday 21 October, and on Selby Street, the road will be closed from Monday 27 October to Tuesday 28 October. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some footpaths will also be closed, but alternative routes will be put in place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, some bus services won&#8217;t be able to access the bus stop located on Selby Street between Glasgow Street and Massey Close during the road closure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notices will be placed at the bus stop giving further details about how the services will be affected. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"753\" data-src=\"https:\/\/jusmedia.co.uk\/360wire\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/53\/2025\/10\/Bus-Stop-2048x1505-1-1024x753.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1233 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1024px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1024\/753;\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Ieronimo said: &#8220;We are committed to improving and enhancing the safety of our road network.
