A man from Sheffield has been found guilty of manslaughter by a jury following a two week trial at Sheffield Crown Court. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Michael James, of Barlow Drive, 45 is due to be sentenced tomorrow on 16 October. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the early hours of 16 March, South Yorkshire Police were called to reports of a man with stab wounds inside a property in Barlow Drive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bradley Hollis, 35, was found by emergency services in critical condition having suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Detective Chief Inspector Thomas Woodward, who was the Senior Investigating Officer for the investigation, said: “I hope the conclusion of this trial will help bring Bradley’s loved ones some closure knowing that the person responsible for his death has been held accountable for his actions.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
James fled the scene but was arrested a short time later when he was located in an out building in the Rivelin Valley area of Sheffield. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The jury found James not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter and of possession of a bladed article. He previously pleaded guilty to one count of assault.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Inspector Woodward said: “James inflicted devastating injuries to Bradley before fleeing the scene in a cowardly attempt to avoid facing the consequences of his violent behaviour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“My thoughts remain with Bradley’s family – I hope this verdict will provide some comfort in this difficult time.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
