Several flood warnings have been issued by the Met Office and the Environment agency in Rotherham as Storm Babet unleases torrents across the country.

Warnings were issued after persistent rainfall has caused river levels to rise to a dangerously high level this morning.

Rotherham’s tram train station was also diverted to Meadowhall this morning due to flooding at the station.

Flood risks are currently expected to fall by Sunday and Monday, but overflowing rivers may cause properties and roads to flood still.

Rotherham Borough Council have advised residents take necessary precautions and to closely follow updates.
