Due to safety concerns, bonfire celebrations have been cancelled at Clifton Park by Rotherham council.
The council said the ground in which the event was set to take place is too ‘soggy’ as a result of the heavy rain.
Polly Hamilton, Rotherham Council’s assistant director of culture, sport, and tourism, said: “Residents’ safety is our number one priority.
“The rain from last weekend and further rain this week has made the grassy areas very muddy and slippery and so for safety reasons, sadly, we have had to cancel this celebration event.”
The cancellation of the event comes a week after Storm Babet hit the streets of Rotherham.
