Storm Babet aftermath: 7 shocking photos of reality for Catcliffe residents hit by flood

These seven shocking photo’s depict the harsh reality for homeowners in Catcliffe, Rotherham, after the area was flooded by Storm Babet on the 21 October.

One week ago, Storm Babet saw 250 people forced to flee their homes in Catcliffe, after the River Rother burst its banks.

South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation have estimated that 165 homes in the county have been ruined, with Catcliffe being at the heart of the damage. 

The Foundation is estimating that over £17,000’s worth of damage has been caused by the flooding, with the total continuing to climb.

Rotherham and Barnsley Councils have offered to pay £350 in compensation to help displaced families.
