West Bar, which forms part of the Northern Edge of Sheffield City Centre, was identified as the preferred site for a large-scale inward investment in the city.
The £300 million development scheme will include 368 luxury apartments available for rent, a multi storey car park, offices, as well as spaces open for retail and hospitality.
The virtual fly-through of the site details how the new office and retail spaces and tree-lined outdoor spaces will look, as well as how they will fit amongst the Sheffield skyline between Kellham Island and Castlegate.
The renovation, which is being implemented by Urbo (West Bar Ltd) in collaboration with Sheffield City Council, aims to transform the area into a vibrant environment for living, working and socialising.
Peter Swallow at Urbo (West Bar) Ltd, said: “We were delighted to reveal this fantastic new footage at the recent Sheffield Property Association gathering where we were joined by our delivery partners including Sheffield City council, principal contractor Bowmer + Kirkland, 5plus architects and Asteer planning.
“West Bar is a leading example of what can be achieved through effective public and private sector collaboration.”
West Bar is already home to 2,000 residents, and is expected to create up to 8,000 jobs for people of Sheffield once the seven acre former brownfield site has been transformed.
The first phase of the project is due for completion in June 2024, but construction is already well underway.
