The Rotherham Healthy Holidays programme for children and young people will be returning this December for the school winter holidays.

Rotherham Council has once again partnered with a range of providers across the borough to deliver holiday activity programmes, starting from Wednesday 27th December through to Friday 5th January.

Funded places are available for many children, including over 12,000 from the borough who receive benefits-related free school meals.Many providers are offering good value paid places as well, and parents are being encourage to book places for their children at the earliest opportunity..

In total, there are 30 different programmes planned, with every Healthy Holidays session including a meal.

Activities include arts and crafts, swimming, street dance, football, parkour, boxing, plus much more.

Parents must collect a unique reference number from their child’s school to access funded place.

Councillor Victoria Cusworth, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People at Rotherham Council, said: “Our Rotherham Healthy Holidays programme continues to provide an excellent range of activities for children and young people at locations across the borough.

“We know that this winter will be a challenging time for many families with cost of living pressures and increased energy costs, which is why the Healthy Holidays programme continues to be so important.”
