The bottom of The Moor near Hereford Street, Sheffield was sealed off by a police cordon earlier this afternoon, 17th October, after reports of a suspected stabbing in the popular city centre area.
Several police and ambulance vehicles were seen attending and South Yorkshire Police confirmed in a statement that a man has been taken to hospital after sustaining stab wounds.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We received reports of a stabbing at 11:34 today, at the bottom of The Moor in Sheffield City Centre.
“Officers and the ambulance service attended the scene, and a man has been taken to hospital with stab wounds.”
Hereford Street has since been reopened and the police cordon removed.
Taking to X, South Yorkshire Police have said enquires are still ongoing.
