The Percy Pud race is taking place this Sunday to raise money for ‘Cat-CHING’ and staff from Sheffield University are taking part.
They will be running the 10k race to support the Sheffield-based charity which tackles the overpopulation of cats in Sheffield and surrounding areas.
‘Cat-CHING’ is known for helping stray, feral and unwanted cats find their forever homes by providing a platform to re-home, foster and donate.
Charlotte Curry, PhD Candidate of the University of Sheffield, said: “We decided to participate in Percy Pud 10k as we hope to raise some funds for a good cause, one that is not often considered when raising money within large, organised events.”
Charlotte has prepared for the race by continuing to run together two or three times a week and maintaining an easy running pace.
Sarah Bradley, who is running alongside Charlotte, said: “If you think you would like a cat but you are not in a position to have a permanent cat, this is a great compromise. CAT-ching is always looking for more fostering volunteers.
“All you need is a spare room or pet free home, drive or access to transport, and time and patience.”
