Storm Ciaran is set to impact Yorkshire over the next three days, with four flood warnings and 18 flood alerts in place.

The severe weather warnings have been released on the Gov website and residents have been told to expect strong winds and heavy rain.

The alerts say: “Properties are at risk of flooding. Please take action to protect yourself and monitor local weather and river conditions.”

They also recommend avoiding contact with flood water and activating any property flood protection you may have.

Areas surrounding York, Doncaster and Middlesborough are all set to be impacted and the rivers Derwent and Trent are expected to be a high risk.

The Met Office forecasts also show that Yorkshire is expecting some heavy downpours and with many still suffering the effects of Storm Babet, the risk of flooding is extremely high.
