A five-year-old boy was attacked by three German Shepherds in Doncaster and police are appealing for information.

The incident happened on Saturday 7 October on Balfour Road and it is believed the owner fled the scene without getting the animals under control.

The young boy suffered from multiple puncture wounds to his body and required urgent medical treatment.

The incident comes after significant attention has been brought to dog attacks across the media, with talks of the XL Bully breed being banned earlier this month.

The owner has been described as white, around six feet tall and in his thirties. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a long green coat and light green combat trousers.

Police are urging the owner of the dog to come forward or anyone who may be able to assist with their enquiries to get in touch.
