Police in Scarborough have launched an urgent appeal this morning as a 13-year-old girl was hit by a car.

The girl was hit by a long dark-coloured, possibly blue, saloon type of car driven by a woman with blonde hair.

The incident happened between 5:30 and 5:50 PM on Tuesday 14 November at the Scalby Road junction with Woodland Ravine.

After suffering from minor cuts and bruising to her face and body, the girl was taken to hospital and then discharged following treatment.

Officers are desperately appealing for information to help identify the driver and the vehicle involved in this incident.
