Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder said he had ‘no complaints’ about the team’s first defeat of the season, losing 0-2 to Leeds United.

Second-half goals from Pascal Struijk and Mateo Joseph secured victory for the hosts, with Wilder admitting that Leeds were the ‘better team’ on the night.

Wilder said: “They were better in every department, from the start, they were quicker to win first and second balls, sharper overall, and by far the best team we’ve faced this season- no disrespect to the others.”

He admitted disappointment with Sheffield United’s performance but stood by his decision to change their tactics for the match, believing it gave ‘the best chance of a result’.

The Blades boss pointed to individual errors, noting that the first goal came from poor defending on a corner rather than a tactical flaw.

“We gave the ball away too cheaply, made poor decisions, and couldn’t find our usual rhythm.

“It just wasn’t our night.”

Despite the setback, Wilder stressed that the team would regroup quickly ahead of their next match.

He said: “It’s not the end of the world, we’ll dust ourselves off, and it’s all about how we react now.

“Knowing the character in the dressing room, I’m confident we’ll bounce back strongly.”

Sheffield United will face Middlesbrough in their next fixture on Wednesday, October 23, at 8:00 PM, at the Riverside Stadium.
