The Yorkshire Wildlife Park (YWP) is ‘celebrating the festive season in style’ by offering visitors their annual walk-through experience.
People get to be face to face with the world’s most beautiful, at-risk species including leopards, polar bears, black rhinos, giraffes and African painted dogs.
Co-founder and CEO of the park, John Minion, said: “Yorkshire Wildlife Park’s festivities have become an annual tradition for many families, we are incredibly excited to invite them back for another year of unforgettable magic.”
As the year came to an end, the animals enjoyed the snowy weather which covered the park.
Visitors who went along during the snowfall were able to see some of the animals enjoying the cold for the first time.
One of the animals was 2 year old Aukley, the park’s youngest Amur leopard cub.
Mr Minion said: “If you get the rare opportunity to see our beautiful animals in the snow, take it!”
The park also had an ‘exciting guest’ join them to launch their festive season.
“We were also delighted to welcome Paul Chuckle to open Yorkshire’s biggest and best light trail.”
Mr Chuckle, one half of the comedy act The Chuckle Brothers, brought his family along to the walk through experience, which takes guests on an adventure across the six continents.
Mr Minion said: “Many families have followed suit, and crowds have gathered to take part in this Christmas extravaganza.”
Tickets to this year’s events were so popular that the site crashed ‘within seconds’ of their release.
Yorkshire Wildlife park do ‘all they can’ to remain open regardless of the weather.
Mr Minion said: “It is going to be a Christmas to remember and there is something for all ages to enjoy!”
The resort has an array of other Christmas events alongside the light trail, including a Christmas Fair, a Polar Bear Grotto and Breakfast with Santa.
