South Yorkshire Police have renewed their appeal for information on the one-year anniversary of the murder of 52-year-old Paul Sharp in Rotherham.

Paul was found with serious injuries on October 25, 2023, at 7:40 am at a property on Redscope Crescent and, despite efforts from medical professionals, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem confirmed that Paul died from stab wounds, leading to the launch of a murder investigation.

One year later, his family has shared a heartfelt tribute, saying, “Paul wasn’t perfect, but he wasn’t a bad man and did not deserve to die in the way that he did,” and urging anyone with information to “please come forward and speak to the police.”

A 47-year-old man, previously re-arrested on suspicion of murder, has since been released on bail as investigations continue.

Detective Inspector David Robertson, senior investigating officer, expressed the belief that people in the community may have valuable information, saying, “Paul’s family deserves answers… any piece of information, no matter how small or irrelevant you may think it is, may prove vital to our investigation.”

DI Robertson stressed that help from the community is crucial in finding those responsible and ensuring justice for Paul’s family.
