A crash has happened on a major motorway going through Sheffield.

Two lanes have been closed on the M1 in Sheffield, after a crash has happened 12.47am today (October 18th).

The crash took place at junction 31 to the A57 Worksop Road.

Queues of traffic have formed all the way up to junction 30 for Worksop.

Regarding information about the traffic congestion, Live traffic data site Inrix said: “Queueing traffic due to earlier accident on M1 Northbound at J31 A57 Worksop Road (Sheffield / Worksop). Congestion to J30 (Worksop). Lanes one and four (of four) are closed.”

Lanes one and four have been closed on the carriageway whilst the crash site is being dealt with.
