NHS funds diverted from patient care to repairs as Sheffield GP surgery vandalised

A Sheffield GP surgery building has been hit by vandals, with its clinical facilities affected.

The incident has affected Woodhouse Health Centre, on Sheffield Road, with police called in over the attack.

Woodhouse Health Centre representatives have released a statement, they said: “We are disappointed to inform our patients and local community that our Practice building has been the target of criminal damage affecting some of our clinical rooms.

As a result of this vandalism, NHS funds that would otherwise be used to support and improve patient services must now be redirected towards repairing and replacing the damage.”

The practice notified the police, and have CCTV footage of the incident.

They want to encourage the community to be mindful and help protect the “vital healthcare centre” so that NHS resources can remain focused on patient care rather than repairing avoidable damage.
