Northern Rail have announced disruptions to train services on Christmas Eve.
The Manchester to Sheffield line is expected to have multiple service cancellations from 9am to 9pm, meaning many won’t make it home for Christmas.
A spokesperson from Northern rail has published an apology, it said: “We sincerely apologise for the disruptions this will cause, and are doing our best to make sure most train services are running.”
This issue follows delayed construction works being made to the overhead lines.
Northern Rail also announced that there will be replacement bus services to help people travel home.
Stacey Morgan, 42, from Dore and Totley, who regularly travels on the Manchester to Sheffield route, said: “Rail replacement bus services are never on time, Northern Rail need to sort this problem out as soon as possible, I’m extremely annoyed about this.”
