The Council has announced a rise in license costs for taxi drivers in Sheffield.
The increase is to be introduced in February 2025 and will impact private hire drivers and their vehicles.
A new year-long drivers license will increase from £169 to £223, as part of the first rise in over eight years.
The committee report published ahead of the meeting stated the proposed hike was due to the “increased costs to the service.”
A survey found “a large proportion of respondents expressed concern about the financial impact of the proposals on individuals and businesses, especially given the current cost-of-living crisis.”
