A young man has been killed in a traffic collision on Aughton Road, Rotherham.
At 1:24pm on Wednesday 15 November, South Yorkshire Roads Policing Team were called to an incident that happened in the direction of Swallownest, close to the junction with Alexandra Road.
The collision involving a red Honda motorcycle and a silver Vauxhall Movano van resulted in the van setting on fire, with the rider of the motorcycle sadly dying at the scene.
His family have been notified and are being supported by specialist officers.
The driver of the van remained at the scene and is continuing to support the police in their enquiries.
Aughton Road will remain closed tonight between the junctions of Rotherham Road and Aughton Avenue whilst the investigation continues.
Police are calling for anyone who witnessed the scene, or who has dash cam footage to contact them on 101, quoting the incident number 413.
