Storm Debi is set to disrupt Sheffield today with strong wind gusts of 52pmh.
From 2pm to 6pm Sheffield will face gusts from up to 53mph, whilst the rest of the UK prepares for potential tornados.
The UK’s Tornado and Storm Research Organisation has warned of gusts as strong as 100mph, and hailstones that could potentially be 20mm in size.
A Spokesperson from TORRO said: “This forecast is concerned with the risk of one or two tornadoes, associated with the passage of the cold front of the system.”
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning and said that people should expect: injuries and dangers to life from flying debris, damage to buildings, power cuts and road, air, ferry and rail services to be cancelled.
