A man has been jailed after racially assaulting a victim outside a takeaway in Sheffield.

Harry Broughton, 21, of Heeley Green, (pictured) assaulted the victim whilst attempting to steal from him. He has been sentenced to two years and six months in prison for the crimes.

Investigating Officer, Sanchia Watson, said: “Broughton attacked and caused harm to an innocent member of the public for his own gain.

“I’m pleased he has now been sentenced for his actions and I hope this demonstrates that we will take action to bring offenders to justice and protect members of our community.”

Broughton was sentenced on 22 November at Sheffield Crown Court.
