Joshua Patrick Atkins tragically passed away following a serious road traffic collision on Myers Grove Lane, Stannington, Sheffield.
South Yorkshire Police received reports of the incident involving a black Fiat Punto at 11:13 pm on Saturday (November 11).
Emergency services quickly attended the scene with all three occupants of the car, 17 and 18, being taken immediately to hospital.
Tragically, the 17-year-old died in hospital due to his injuries.
A GoFundMe page for Joshua’s family and the funeral cost has raised £7,798 just within three days, exceeding its £1,000 target.
Debbie Beeley, the organiser says on the page, “This is a fundraising page for Josh’s family who tragically lost their son at 17 years of age due to a tragic car accident.
“Josh was a vibrant teenager who lived life to the full and had an impact on many people’s lives.
“This is a very difficult time for the family and we want to alleviate any financial burden.”
No one has been arrested for the car accident.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw the crash to come forward, or those who have dashcam footage to call 101 quoting incident number 1,083 of November 11.
