South Yorkshire Police have released a public statement revealing three arrests had been made on 31st October in connection with an exploitation investigation.
A 36-year-old man from the Manor area has been given bail following an arrest on suspicion of exploitation and forced labour.
Two other men aged 29 and 37 were also arrested on suspicion of immigration offences at a car wash in the Arbothourne area and currently remain in police custody.
Investigating Officer Emma Mulliner said: “If members of the public have any information which could assist us with our investigation, please contact us online or by calling 101 and quote incident number 427 of 14 October when you get in touch. Any information provided to the police will be taken seriously and investigated thoroughly.”
Detective Inspector James Smith from the Modern Slavery Team said: “Any information members of the public can report regarding locations or individuals of concern is crucial in us identifying vulnerable people and investigating those who are exploiting them. If you suspect someone you know is being exploited, please report it to the police or via the Modern Slavery Helpline on 0800 0121 700.”
