Sheffield’s Utilita Arena will play host to the opening night of Liam Gallagher’s 2024 tour.
The Mancunian rockstar has announced the tour dates for the 30th anniversary of the release of Oasis’s debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’, beginning 1 June 2024.
Roberto Caselli, admin of one of the biggest Oasis blogs in the world, thinks Sheffield is a great city to open the tour in.
He said: “Oh we’re really excited! Many songs will be played live for the first time and we have to thank Liam for this journey to the ‘90s, the best decade in our lives!
“Oasis played for the first time in Sheffield in 1993. This new show will be a chance to come back and enjoy some of the good old vibes.”
Liam will play the album through in its entirety as well as notorious b-sides from the era.
The album has sold over 8 million copies world wide and is a staple of British music from the 1990s.
Mr Caselli said: “Oasis were not just a band, they were a way of life. Their music, their swagger and approach to life really changed a generation. When Definitely Maybe came out everyone really thought that everything could be possible.”
Liam Gallagher said in relation to the gigs: “I’m bouncing around the house to announce the Definitely Maybe Tour. The most important album of the ‘90s bar none. I wouldn’t be anywhere without it and neither would you, so let’s celebrate together LG x”
Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday the 20th October 2023 and are priced between £52.95 and £86.50.
