Three men were arrested 31 October in Manor and Arbouthorne due to suspected exploitation.

The men were arrested as part of a ‘joint operation’ by the police targeting locations in Sheffield linked with exploitation. 

A 36 year old man has been arrested and put on bail on suspicion of exploitation and forced labour following a warrant at a residential address in the Manor area. 

Also two men aged 37 and 29 were also arrested and remain in police custody on suspicion of immigration offences at a car wash in the Arbourthorne area. 

Potential victims of suspected exploitation have now been safeguarded by the police.

Police are urging those with any information to call 101 and quote the incident number 427 of 14 October, or report it to the Modern Slavery Helpline on 0800 0121 700.

Investigating Officer Emma Mulliner said: “I would like to thank our partners at the Department for Work and Pensions, Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority, and Immigration authorities for working with us to tackle Modern Day Slavery.”

Detective Inspector James Smith from the Modern Slavery Team said: “Any information members of the public can report regarding locations or individuals of concern is crucial in us identifying vulnerable people, and investigating those who are exploiting them.”
