Several Sheffield Labour party MP’s, including Paul Blomfield and Clive Betts, have signed a letter addressed to the Prime Minister in support of those currently suffering in Gaza.

The MP’s said in their letter: “this is an urgent situation and civilians in Gaza need to know the world is not simply watching, but acting to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe.

“We must show that we are unequivocal in our belief that all lives matter equally.”

They have called for the Prime Minister to condemn Israel in their crimes against international law and encourage the cessation of military activity by all parties.

The news comes in light of a protest that occurred outside Heeley MP Louise Haigh’s office on 20 October by Palestine Action due to the lack of statement from Ms Haigh, who has also signed the letter alongside Olivia Blake and Gill Furniss.
