Crookes community in Sheffield has closed its streets to allow independent stalls to sell their products this Christmas.

Crookes Christmas Street Market, which closed Stannington View Road and Colchester Road, is held annually.

The Crookes Forum, a community group for the area, organises the event, hosting over 30 stalls.

Adam Conway Cowdrill, founder of Pottery Conway, from High Green in Chapeltown, sold his functional and domestic tableware at the market.

He said: “It means so much to be part of the market, I’ve only done this market twice and it’s just a really lovely community market with lots of nice people.”

Mr Conway Cowdrill uses a stoneware clay and glaze to make mugs, bowls, beakers, and plates.

Among the rest of the stalls was locally-made honey, candles, prints, jewellery, books, plants, deli food, and a range of hot food stalls.

There was also entertainment in the centre of the market from the Sheffield City Morris Dancers.

Just Natural, a fruit and vegetable shop at the end of Stannington View Road, was selling Christmas trees.

The general Crookes Street Market is held three times a year in the same location.
