Sheffield protesters calling for armistice took to the streets for the third time in over a week amid ongoing violence between Israel and Palestine.

The protest travelled past Sheffield City Hall and Barkers Pool, with a midday march.

Demonstrators voiced their calls for justice and peace in Palestine, advocating an end to apartheid.

Mohammand Alnslr, 40, from Syria said: “The Palestinian people have the right of way to live, safety, and the highest end because that is where Israel comes from, out of Palestine. So I’m very pleased to stand with Palestine.”

Protester Ria Saleen, 37, said: “We’re against genocide but we’re also Muslims as well.”

So this has been going on for over 70 years of conflict. And as Muslims, Palestine, the land, we believe that God himself sanctified and blessed that land for us.”

Mrs Saleen added: “It’s absolutely disgusting. It even goes against international laws but nobody’s speaking up, even the Muslim community like Saudi Arabia, places like that that we expect to speak up.

I’ve said that Israel’s at fault but they’re not doing anything about it, it’s diabolical.”

Mrs Saleen said: “It’s terrible, Rishi Sunak said not to supposedly sending 10 million pounds out to Palestine because it’s taxpayers’ money,

He can’t evidence it and then in press conferences he’s hugging the Prime Minister of Israel saying that he’s with him in arms as a brother.”

The protest was also against the attack on Gaza, causing the deaths of at least 3,000 Palestinians.

Tony Robson, 57, a journalist from the World Socialist, said the recent Gaza hospital blast is an atrocity.

He said: “It’s one of many atrocities that have been conducted over the past week and it can’t be seen in any shape or form as a departure from the expanding of war crimes”

With placards in hand, protesters slammed the Prime Minister’s handling of the conflict.

Mr Robson also said: “We are saying that Sunak and Stama should be convicted or sent for conviction at the ICC as war criminals,

They can block arms supplies to the Israeli state in this country. BAE Systems provides 15% of the components in the F-35 aircraft that are raining death.”

Following the demonstration at Barker’s Pool, protesters proceeded to march towards the Moor while chanting “Free Palestine.”
