Festival Season

What is it?

The summer represents the start of Festival Season, where people around the world descend on farms and parks to listen to a celebration of live music.

The big festivals – your Glastonburys, your Coachellas, your Boardmasters – see the biggest bands and artists in the world headline. Smaller festivals give smaller artists the opportunity to perform to hundreds or thousands of people and introduce themselves.

Festivals can also make a band. The Strokes in 2001 used their festival season to break into the mainstream. Nirvana in 1991 had the same effect, thanks to their breakout ‘Nevermind’.

So sit back, unwind, and let’s transport you to the moment you’ve finally finished putting your tent up. You’ve got a warm Fosters in one hand and a sausage roll in the other – it’s Festival Season.
