SuperTram are offering complimentary tram journeys for military personnel on the November 10 and 11.

Nigel Wragg, Commercial Manager at South Yorkshire SuperTram said: “Remembrance Day is an important day of reflection across the country, honouring all those who served our country with bravery, and those who still do.

“We are proud to offer free Supertram travel to serving military personnel and veterans alike across the network. With this small gesture we hope to demonstrate our gratitude by making it as easy as possible for people to attend local events.”

Mark Ellwood, Trustee and Public Relations Supervisor at Ex-Services Home Mess Sheffield said: “SuperTram has always been super supportive of Sheffield’s armed forces community. A lot of veterans use public transport on Remembrance Sunday to avoid driving into the city centre, or to ensure they can attend services if they don’t have their own transport.

“The offer of free travel goes a long way as it allows the veterans to pay their support. SuperTram should be thanked for the way they support the armed forces community.”

Those who have served must show their relevant ID to a member of staff onboard to obtain their free travel.

The SuperTram drivers have the right to observe the 2 minute silence on both Sunday and Monday, and ask that all passengers respect this.
