Ollie Arblaster has endured a season-ending setback after undergoing successful surgery on a ruptured ACL sustained during a game just weeks ago.
Despite the devastation of being sidelined for the rest of the season. Arblaster remains optimistic about his rehabilitation and the journey ahead.
Arblaster said: “This injury is hard to come to terms with, but it’s part of the game I love. The road to recovery will be tough, but I’m confident it will make me stronger and more determined,” he shared.
Arblaster, who became club captain after only 29 appearances—12 of which came this season—has been a consistent force in midfield.
The partnership formed with Vini Souza has been pivotal, with Arblaster’s creativity driving the team forward. Beyond his club success, Arblaster has been a regular fixture in England’s U20 and Elite Squad setups. Showcasing his immense potential on the international stage.
Chris Wilder, Sheffield United manager, said: “This is obviously a test for him. He is a young player. For this to happen in this part of his career, he has to get over it and get on with it.”
“We will have to take it on a month-by-month basis, but we are not a one or two-man team. If we get back before the end of the season, then that’s great, but if not, he will be back for next season.”
Wilder went on to stress the return of Tom Davies. The former Everton regular has been unable to nail down a spot in the first team since his move. As well as the presence of England under 20’s teammate Sydie Peck.
As he begins his rehabilitation journey, his teammates and fans await his return, and the squad will hope few other injuries will be sustained in an already thin Blades squad.
Blades fans will hope despite this colossal blow to the squad, they continue their electric form until the halfway point of the championship season.
