The annual sponsored snowflakes have been installed on Sheffield Children’s Hospital, ready to shine for the much-anticipated switch-on.

Following their launch in 2004, the award-winning snowflake display has raised over £2.5m for Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

The snowflakes raised over £377K in 2023.

Tchad Western, Chief Fun Officer at The Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “It has become a highlight of the festive season for the city and the money raised will help Sheffield Children’s where it is needed most.

“We are so grateful to every individual, family, business, community group, school, street and suburb that has united behind our fundraising this Christmas.

“Your support will help change the lives of young patients at Sheffield Children’s for generations to come.”

This year, Sheffield Children’s Hospital is aiming to raise £2 million to support the creation a research and technology centre.

The centre will be managed by Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust.

It is set to be located at Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park.

Over £370,000 has been pledged for this year’s appeal to support the National Centre for Child Health Technology.

Sheffield Children’s Hospital states that: “The money raised by businesses, schools, community groups, families and individuals will make a real difference to the lives of children and their families who visit.”

In return for pledging to raise funds, each sponsor will have their own snowflake that will be lit up in locations across Sheffield.

The snowflake will also be complete with a name tag showcasing their contribution for everyone to see.

This year, the snowflakes will illuminate for the 20th time on Monday, December 2.
