An American video festival, CatVideoFest, has selected Sheffield as one of only three UK cities to showcase a heart warming, 75-minute reel of cat videos.
CatVideoFest is an annual celebration featuring a compilation reel of the latest and best cat videos from around the world and it is held at the Showroom Cinema for the first time.
The festival contributes to a worthy cause as it partners with local cat charities and the organising committee is very devoted on raising awareness and money for cats in need globally.
Since its inception in 2019, CatVideoFest has raised over $250,000 for cat charities and shelters in the USA. A percentage of the proceeds from each event go to local animal shelters and animal welfare organisations.
The festival is expanding its reach to the UK, bringing joy to cat lovers while supporting cats in need.
One particular charity being supported by the festival is The Sheffield Cats Shelter as a portion of the ticket sales will go to them.
The Sheffield Cat Shelter team will be at the event managing a stand, and their iconic mascot, Travis, will be there.
With the growing number of cats in the rescue. This local charity has been struggling to find sufficient funds to provide for the cats under their care.
Whether it’s a cosy cinema screening or an outdoor festival, the festival’s wide appeal ensures that everyone can join in the fun.
