Steamworks Flea Market set to take over Sheffield this Saturday

A new vibrant flea market at the Steamworks is promising a delightful day for all visitors.

Hosted by the creators of the UK’s largest makers market, Craft & Flea, this event will be run by The Steamworks, Lou Lou’s Vintage, and Thrift & Flea.

Rosie, an event organiser from Thrift & Flea, said: “We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Sheffield’s upcoming flea market at the Steamworks!”

“This event brings together over 25 independent vintage stalls with everything from mid-century homewares to unique men’s and women’s fashion.”

Shoppers can expect to find a treasure trove of unique items, including true vintage and thrift clothing from the 1960s to the 2000s, stylish retro homewares, distinctive antiques, and lush plant stalls and local artists.

The market is set to provide mouthwatering local street food vendors and sweet treats, described as ‘think super tasty comfort food’ to fuel your flea hunting, as well as delicious barista-style coffee.

Rosie also included: “Alongside the incredible vintage finds, we’ll be bringing a curated selection of the best local crafts, artisan creators, and local businesses—think ceramics, jewelry, art, and more!”

“We’ve also got the amazing Kali Kitchen joining us! They’ll be serving up delicious Mediterranean street food, or you can grab a fresh barista coffee from B.J.’s Beans.”

The flea market aims to support local makers while promoting sustainable shopping practices.

Visitors can enjoy a day of treasure hunting and friendly conversations with stallholders, all in a lively atmosphere.

Thrift & Flea said: “This flea market is more than just a shopping experience; it’s a vibrant community celebration. It’s the perfect blend of cool vintage clothing, unique handmade crafts, and quirky retro homewares that everyone will love.”

Tickets for the event are priced at £2.50 in advance and £3 at the door, with free entry for children under 12. Pre-booking tickets guarantees priority entry, allowing attendees to make the most of their time at the market.

Rosie said: “It’s a perfect day out for friends, families, and students alike! Shopping vintage and handmade not only supports local makers, but it’s also a sustainable way to find items with real character and history.

“Join us for a vibrant, community-centered day in Sheffield—hope to see you all there!”

Those interested in selling at the market are encouraged to apply. The event organisers are seeking vendors of vintage clothing, homewares, handmade products, and more.

Applications can be submitted through the market’s website or via email at thethriftandflea@gmail.com.

Mark your calendars for Saturday and get ready to dive into a vibrant world of vintage finds and local crafts.

The team behind the market looks forward to welcoming everyone to this celebration of Sheffield’s local culture. Don’t miss out on what promises to be a fantastic day of shopping, eating, and community spirit!
