Rise in car crime: man finds string of stolen Fiat Pandas

Six Fiat Pandas have been reported as stolen, as the police warn about a surge in burglaries in the east area.

The stolen Fiat Pandas have been sighted in Arbourthorne, Norfolk Park, Heeley, and Birley Moor.

Ash Ghinn, 64, noticed his new Fiat Panda was stolen from his driveway last Tuesday.

Mr Ghinn took the above photo a day before the car was stolen.

Mr Ghinn said: “We were shocked, and I just looked at my partner and said, ‘What, I can’t. Did we park it somewhere last night? Are we going crazy?’ But after a little while, I just felt a terrible disappointment.”

After searching for his car, he came across five more Fiat Pandas that were also stolen, including one that was burnt out and another one that was found damaged but ‘salvageable’.

Whilst these five Fiat Pandas have been found, Mr Ghinn’s is still missing.

Sheffield South East Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) has also reported an incident of another stolen Fiat Panda.

South Yorkshire Police noted that during the winter months, neighbourhood crime often increases, particularly burglaries, vehicle thefts, and robberies. Criminals are known for taking advantage of the earlier dark nights to go unnoticed and seek easy opportunities to commit crimes.

SYP continues their inquiries, but if anyone has information that could help them return this property to its rightful owner, please call 101.
