19 year old accused of driving vehicle into officer charged with 12 offences

A Sheffield teenager has been charged with 12 offences, including driving a car into a police officer, at Sheffield Magistrates Court.

Anthony Lockwood, of Maytree Lane in Waterthorpe, was charged with a string of charges, six of which follow an incident that took place on 29 September 2024.

On that night, it is alleged that Lockwood drove a vehicle in the direction of an officer on Blackstock Road after failing to stop for police.

More charges have been made relate to an incident that occurred on 31st October 2024.

The full list of charges includes two counts of driving a motor vehicle dangerously, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possessing a knife or blade in public, burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.

There are also charges for possessing cannabis, use of a vehicle without a licence or insurance, and two counts of failing to stop when directed by police. 

Lockwood was bailed with conditions ahead of a further hearing at Sheffield Crown Court on 22 November 2024.
