I (Lily) travelled to Leeds, to go test this out and tell you all about it.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The consultation was managed by Kiehl\u2019s \u2018skinpro\u2019 Fang, who was more than happy to assist me. I just turned up with no booking and as it wasn\u2019t busy and I got seen instantly, but you can book your appointment in advance on Kiehl&#8217;s website.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It started off with a short questionnaire about your skin type and goals , which followed with a quick analysis of my skin with a pen-like tool, which measures your skin barrier strength and hydration levels.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then comes the star of the show.- The \u2018Derma-Reader deep skin analysis\u2019 machine. It was kind of intimidating, I\u2019m not going to lie to you! You place your chin in the machine and it takes three pictures of your face. The interactive screen allows you to see exactly where the issue is (and isn&#8217;t). We talked through my visible pores, UV damage, dark spots, redness, skin texture, dark circles, even wrinkles- I wasn\u2019t happy about that one, I&#8217;m 20!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fang explained how to tackle each issue if the reading was low, and why it occurred. I felt and smelled all the products that Fang recommended to me.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We all love a pro\u2019s and con\u2019s list so here you are:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pro\u2019s<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It\u2019s free guys- I am an absolute sucker for a freebie.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It\u2019s an overall fun experience if you love skincare, my friend and I both got it done and we were there for over an hour and did not feel rushed at all.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The high-tech is something I am not used to! It felt very in-depth, I am genuinely so surprised this is a free service.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is very informative. It is definitely worth your time. I\u00a0 learned about every single aspect of my skin, what I needed for it, whether to worry about it or not and how to rectify it. The \u2018skin pros\u2019 are extremely knowledgeable.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Con\u2019s<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Kiehl\u2019s products are expensive. Despite the service being free they obviously try to sell you the products. I couldn\u2019t afford anything so we had to tell them we wouldn\u2019t invest in any of the products that day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You must take some things with a pinch of salt. Afterall, remember they are trying to sell you products and it is very detailed tech.\u00a0 For example, my \u2018wrinkles\u2019; I don\u2019t doubt the machine picked up a couple of lines on my face but THIS IS NORMAL AND NATURAL- we all have different facial features, structure and muscles, I am not aging badly at 20, and neither are you .<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, I give the whole experience an 8 out of 10. I learned so much that I will take into account during my day to day and skincare routine- like changing my moisturiser, drinking more water and never forgetting to use SPF. I marked it down due to the price of the products, as a student, I couldn&#8217;t just spend 50 pounds up front on a serum. This isn\u2019t against Kiehls\u2019 products, as they have very advanced formulas which are all dermatologist approved as well as a good reputation. Maybe something I can think of when I leave education and start my \u2018big girl\u2019 job?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So run to your closest Kiehl\u2019s and test it out yourself! Next Saturday, go get your free skin consultation, test the luxury high tech experience, go get yourself an iced coffee and a Greggs sausage roll in the sunshine (hopefully!) and don\u2019t forget your SPF!
