One thing many fans hate about the Premier League nowadays is its obsession with money.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

50 different TV deals, dodgy sponsorship deals, huge transfer fees… “game’s gone, mate”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, there was a time where this wasn’t quite such a powerful feeling. There’s nothing like nostalgia, is there? And with that, a love for old sponsors is always at the front of a football fan’s mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plenty of shirts for next season have been released already, and others have been leaked – so what if we brought those old sponsors back? Don’t worry about imagination – we’ve done it for you. Strap in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What if Premier League teams had retro sponsors again?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Arsenal – JVC<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Phwoar. look at that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 1981 to 1999, JVC was emblazoned on the front of Arsenal shirts, and there were some fantastic shirts across this time to accompany some great teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pattern on the leaked 2025-26 shirt is great, and with this logo, this is a serious design. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chelsea – Samsung Mobile<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"Chelsea<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Drogba. Lampard. Terry. Cech. Mourinho. Proper Chels. Samsung is, for many, the sponsor that people grew up seeing on Chelsea shirts, and it was a sponsor that saw plenty of success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samsung Mobile gets the nod here as they won the league with 91 points and just 22 goals conceded under ‘The Special One’ with this on the shirt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next year’s kit is just as rubbish as the last one, but actually, this sponsor works really well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everton – Chang<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It’s not exactly a look away from an age of foreign corporate sponsorship, but there’s nothing that’s as iconic on an Everton shirt as Chang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their longest sponsorship deal in history, it saw players from Tim Cahill, Leighton Baines and Gareth Barry to Romelu Lukaku and Marouane Fellaini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It must be said, though, the leaked shirt for next year isn’t great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyway. Cheerio, Stake. Get in the bin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leeds United – Strongbow<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"Leeds<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Champions League nights and Premier League title charges with Dominic Matteo, Mark Viduka and Ian Harte made the Strongbow era a positive one… before it all unravelled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leaked info<\/a> suggests that the shirt for next year will include the pattern on the walls of the Lowfields tunnel near Elland Road, so we’ve designed a shirt with this faded into the design, based on the Adidas template for the next Liverpool kit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This would go down very well with the fans, we think.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liverpool – Carlsberg<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As soon as we saw this shirt leaked, all we could think of was 00s era Carlsberg shirts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steven Gerrard. Istanbul. It just makes sense. <\/em>And this is very nice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next year, maybe their shirt will be an iconic Premier League-winning one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manchester United – Sharp<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

With the leaked third shirt for 2025-26 being a call-back to the 1993-94 one, why not bring back the sponsor from the original?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cantona’s kung fu makes this an iconic design, so this is a match made in heaven. It’s a shame that the shirt next year will be accompanied by the huuuge <\/em>Snapdragon logo and the current Man United squad. Because it’s mint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newcastle United – Newcastle Brown Ale<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There was, realistically, only one contender here, wasn’t there?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s nothing more ‘Newcastle’ than an image of Alan Shearer celebrating a goal with that beautiful blue star across the chest, so that’s what we’ve brought back for what is almost certainly the last-ever home shirt<\/a> with that badge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And it’s so<\/em> nice to not have the Sela logo on what we think is, otherwise, a great shirt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tottenham – Holsten<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"Tottenham<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

There aren’t many things people in Tottenham hate more than Sol Campbell, but having a huge red logo on their shirts is probably close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holsten, meanwhile, are from a revered time in the club’s history, and their logo accompanied FA Cup glory in 1991.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It makes this shirt<\/a> so much better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BONUS: non-Premier League teams<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Which sponsor is the best, however?<\/p>\n\n\n
