Could the galaxy be full of unknown life who are actually too afraid to say a word?<\/strong> Let me introduce you to the Dark Forest theory. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The universe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Endless, vast, and wide. So much remains unexplored, unknown and unseen. And in all that silence, some of us are left wondering as we gaze upwards:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where is everyone?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s the same question physicist Enrico Fermi <\/a>asked in casual lunch time conversation with his fellow physicists in the 1950\u2019s, Fermi talked about the Milky Way, and the estimated billions of stars it contains, and potentially many planets orbiting them, that may already be inhabited. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not to mention, the fact that the universe is billions of years old, which would be enough time for life to have evolved and for advanced civilizations to develop, outside of Earth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So what Fermi realised was that aliens would have had more than enough time to have made their presence known within the Galaxy. But looking around, we don\u2019t see any clear indication that they\u2019re out and about. There isn’t any obvious evidence of some kind of space empire or cosmic United Nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s the troubling contradiction between the high possibility of their potential existence versus the zero evidence of alien civilizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
