Student Jumps over some sand

Central High School, October 8th — In an event that could only be described as a moment of pure, unadulterated youthful exuberance, Central High sophomore Alex Chen successfully cleared a patch of sand on the school grounds today, captivating the attention of several onlookers.

The impromptu spectacle occurred near the volleyball court during the lunch break. Witnesses report that Chen approached the sandy area—estimated to be about three to four feet wide—with determination. After a brief pause to adjust their backpack, Chen reportedly executed a small, running start followed by a well-timed leap.

“It was majestic,” claimed freshman observer Maya Singh, who was enjoying a juice box nearby. “They just floated right over it. Not a single grain of sand was disturbed.”

Chen, when asked about the motivation behind the daring feat, simply shrugged. “It was either walk all the way around or just… jump it,” they said, dusting off their jeans. “I chose the jump.”

While not an official school sport, the achievement has sparked some lighthearted debate among students about the limits of human agility and the superior convenience of jumping over things versus walking around them. School administration has yet to comment on whether this sets a precedent for a new lunchtime activity.
