Ms Hadfield said: \u201cIt gives us a wonderful mix of energy, experience and perspectives. Bringing together performers of different ages is one of the things that makes the production so special.<em>\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/jusmedia.co.uk\/360wire\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/68\/2026\/10\/Dolly-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Rehearsals for 9 to 5 musical Rotherham\" class=\"wp-image-5756\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">9 to 5 rehearsals<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The musical also has a coincidental connection to Rotherham through Dolly Parton&#8217;s Imagination Library, when the country star came to South Yorkshire in 2007 as part of her book donation scheme.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although there is no formal partnership between the library and the production, the group said Parton\u2019s work to improve children\u2019s access to books through her Imagination Library was something to admire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ms Hadfield said: \u201cHer legacy is one of positivity, opportunity and empowerment, which are values that align closely with what we try to achieve at Wickersley Youngstars.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite being set decades ago, the group believes the musical\u2019s themes remain relevant today. Ms Hadfield continued: \u201cAlthough the show is set in the late 1970s, many of the themes remain relevant. At its heart, 9 to 5 is about people finding their voice, standing up for what is right and challenging unfair treatment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The group said the production also offers an opportunity to celebrate local talent and bring the community together: \u201cProductions like this bring people together, create friendships, build confidence and give local performers the opportunity to be part of something truly special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFor Wickersley Youngstars, every show is a chance to develop young talent and provide experiences that many of our members will carry with them for life.
