The coroner\u2019s office has not yet fixed a date for the full inquest into Harvey’s murder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Law firm Irwin Mitchell, who are representing Harvey\u2019s family, said it had made legal submissions that an inquest was required after a review, commissioned by the trust which runs the school, found Khan had brought knives into school on a number of occasions and identified \u2018several missed opportunities\u2019 to address his behaviour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The review also found Khan had 130 behavioural incidents logged on his school record, including concerns relating to gangs, weapons and anger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The review, commissioned by St Clare Catholic Multi\u2011Academy Trust and published in January, found school leaders “could, and at times should, have taken different action.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yogi Amin, from Irwin Mitchell, said there was a “strong public interest” in examining whether Harvey’s death was preventable and whether systemic failings in the education system contributed to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Caroline Willgoose said she and husband Mark welcomed the decision to hold a full inquest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It’s devastating to know there were warning signs and chances to step in before Harvey was killed,” she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“As his mum, I can’t help thinking about what might have happened if someone had acted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
