An award-winning playwright and BBC <\/a>actress has backed our campaign, Paws for a Cause.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eloise Pennycot, who started going deaf at the age of 11 and was profoundly deaf at 13, received her cochlear implant just before her 14th birthday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since then she has emphasised the importance of giving people the support they need to live full and \u2018independent\u2019 lives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miss Eloise Pennycot said: \u201cSupport dogs can make such a tangible improvement to people\u2019s quality of life. I really encourage more people to get involved with and donate to this campaign, because even just a little time or money can make such a huge difference. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo invest in this campaign is to invest in joy, companionship and independence.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the course of her acting career, she has taken on roles to increase deaf representation in mainstream media. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She starred as Marinela in Amazon Prime Video’s<\/a> 2023 \u2018The Power\u2019, and later,\u00a0 Daisy in the BBC\u2019s 2023-2024 production of \u2018Phoenix Rise\u2019, both deaf characters who use sign language.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n
