North Yorkshire Police can confirm that a 25-year-old man has been charged in relation to the incident which occurred outside the Moxy Hotel in the Peasholm Green area of York on Thursday.

Reports of a stabbing were made.

The man has been charged with a section 18 wounding with two counts of possessing a bladed article.

He is due to appear in York Magistrates’ Court this morning, 11th October.

Detective Superintendent Graeme Wright from North Yorkshire Police said: “Although the victim still remains in hospital, I’m pleased to say that he is recovering well from treatment.

“I would like to thank the public for assisting with our enquiries following the appeal made on Thursday.

“This was an isolated incident and there is no wider threat to the community”.
