Sheffield Christmas Markets have opened today, 13 November, and will kick start the city’s festive celebrations as we head into winter.
The highly anticipated markets are bigger than ever, featuring over 50 cabins stretching across Fargate, Barkers Pool, Peace Gardens and The Moor.
Over 80% of the traders are local, highlighting Sheffield’s vibrant independent trading scene.
Visitors can enjoy Alpine Bars, a carousel ride, Santa’s Grotto, and various seasonal food offerings such as Yorkshire pudding wraps, toasted marshmallows, and churros.
Councillor Mohammed Mahroof, Chair of the Economic Development, Skills and Culture Committee at Sheffield City Council, said: “The festive opening weekend will be a fantastic opportunity for families and visitors to enjoy live entertainment, support local businesses, and soak up the Christmas atmosphere.”
The markets will be open daily from 10am all the way through until Christmas Eve.
