Chefs from Leeds running 100k in one month for charity
13 November 2025

Two chefs from Leeds are taking on a 100 kilometre challenge to raise money for Martin House Children’s Hospice.

Throughout the month of November, Harry Cuthbert and Adrian Magee will be running 100k, including the Leeds MoRun 10k and the Leeds Abbey Dash 10k.

Harry, 20, said: “After having an insight into just how much Martin House does directly for families and children, we knew straight away it’s a worthwhile cause.

“Compared to what challenges they face, jogging 100km is nothing.”

Martin House Children’s Hospice is a charity that provides family-led hospice care free of charge for children and young people with life-threatening conditions.

“After seeing and hearing first hand from the families and children who are supported by Martins House, it was a real connection and realisation of how much they provide,” Harry said.

The pair are currently 30km into the challenge and find themselves jogging across the Humber Bridge until they’ve reached 10k, similarly along the Sewerby Cliff Tops.

Harry said: “Adrian has previously completed fundraising challenges in the past, and I also recently completed a York 10km.

“Together we bounced ideas and tried to challenge each other to which we came up with the 100km idea.

“We wanted to set a challenge where people will also think it is a challenge and then spread awareness of how Martins House supports the community.”

The difficulties they have faced haven’t actually been around the running itself, but finding the routes and fitting it in around their work.

They’re both chefs at Mowgli, an Indian street food chain restaurant with locations up and down the country.

He added: “It is a challenge but it just means being more flexible with timings, often either of us have to complete the 10km and then shower and head straight to work, but compared to challenges other people in the world face, it’s nothing really.

“Family and friends and Mowgli as a whole have been really supportive and encouraging.”

The Gofundme page is currently at £241, but their main priority is spreading awareness about the incredible work the charity does.

Harry said: “That’s more than enough, and who knows, the more we spread awareness the more people may also fundraise and spread awareness themselves.”

The pair wish to continue their fundraising journey and have been looking at future events they can take part in, to help charities like Martin House.

Hannah Finan, Partnership Manager at Martin House Children’s Hospice said: “We are incredibly grateful to Harry and Adrian, their phenomenal fundraising effort means we can continue to be there for Children and Young People with life shortening conditions across Yorkshire.

“Next year we are opening the doors of our new hospice, only possible because of the generosity and kindness of our supporters, the impact of fundraising is huge and we can’t thank Harry, Adrian and the whole team at the Beverley Mowgli restaurant enough.”
