Broadcaster and author Clare Balding has backed our campaign, Paws for a Cause.
Ms Balding, a leading broadcaster and long-time advocate for animal welfare, said the connection between people and dogs is one of the most rewarding relationships many individuals experience.
She said: “I am so pleased you’re celebrating the special bond we have with dogs and the difference they make to our lives, lifting us emotionally, improving our physical and mental health, and offering us practical support.”
Best known for presenting major sporting and cultural events for the BBC, including her long-standing coverage of Crufts, Ms Balding has consistently highlighted the positive role animals play in human lives throughout her career.

Her books, from My Animals and Other Family to her latest, Pastures New, explore the deep connection between people and their pets, reflecting her belief in the value of compassion, routine and companionship.
Ms Balding has also presented Lost Dog, Found Dog, a Channel 5 series dedicated to reuniting lost dogs with their owners.
She added: “Dogs are incredible companions who bring comfort, purpose and joy to our lives, making us better human beings.”
Ms Balding has often highlighted the generosity of people who help dogs in need, describing it as “a reflection of the best in human nature.”
The 360Wire‑backed campaign aims to raise £1,000 for 10 autistic children to meet a support dog, secure 15 sponsors for autism assistance dog Peggy, and have 10 people register interest as puppy socialisers.
