Unite the Union has mobilised against multimillionaire Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri due to his repeated failure to pay the club’s non-football staff wages.
Unite says that its membership has skyrocketed at the club in recent weeks after the ongoing issue of unpaid wages.
The most recent delay of missed and incomplete payments came in September, when workers received just £1,000 instead of their full pay packet.
Low paid staff are being forced to take out loans or borrow money in order to cover their bills.
Sharon Graham, Unite General Secretary, said: “He needs to pay his staff and sell this well-loved club and community asset to a buyer who can run it properly as a matter of urgency.”
